Tomas Freiberger

Tomas Freiberger is a valued new HICC steering committee member, ready to lead the HICC to greater success and innovation in the future. He is a Professor of Medical Immunology, and Molecular Genetics Laboratory Director at the Centre for Cardiovascular Surgery and Transplantation in Brno. With a focus on primary immunodeficiency’s and disorders of lipid metabolism, he spearheads ground-breaking research in familial hypercholesterolaemia (FH). As the founder of the Czech MedPed initiative, he leads a network of 66 lipid centres, impacting over 9,500 FH patients. Prof. Freiberger’s leadership extends to various international committees, driving efforts to enhance FH diagnosis and care globally
