Kees Hovingh

Kees Hovingh is one of the founders of the HICC registry. With a medical degree from the University of Groningen in 2000, a PhD in 2005, and an MBA in 2016, he has made significant contributions to understanding inherited disorders in lipid metabolism. Currently, Kees Hovingh holds positions as a full professor, internist, and vascular medicine specialist at the Amsterdam University Medical Center (location AMC), affiliated with the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands. He also served as co-chair of the department of internal medicine at the AMC from 2017 to 2019. Throughout his career, Prof. Hovingh has been actively involved in clinical research, conducting trials for novel therapies targeting dyslipidemia, venous thrombosis, NASH, and hemophilia. His contributions include over 300 publications and numerous lectures on dyslipidemia and atherosclerosis. Since April 2019, Prof. Hovingh has been employed by Novo Nordisk, Copenhagen, serving as Senior Medical Officer, tasked with expanding the cardiovascular portfolio. Kees Hovingh's multifaceted expertise and dedication to cardiovascular health make him a respected figure in both academic and industry circles.
